About Us

The Region of Waterloo Active Living Network (WRALN) was established as a result of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario’s Childhood Obesity Knowledge to Action symposium in 2007. A suggestion was made at this forum for how to move forward against childhood obesity in this area, which stimulated the development of the WRALN as a network for physical activity promotion. Beginning in 2009, the WRALN’s membership includes a collaborative group of community partners, local organizations, public health and education representatives, practitioners, and researchers from across Waterloo Region that share the mission of bringing people together to encourage living actively.

Over the past few years, members of the Waterloo Region Active Living Network have worked hard to produce a number of valuable accomplishments, which are listed below. If you know of anything that should be added to this list, please feel free to contact Brandie Steeves (brandie.steeves@gmail.com), who would be happy to make any changes.

Thank you to all Waterloo Region Active Living Network members for all of your hard work and commitment!
