Neighbourhood Markets

Neighbourhood markets provide a venue for locally grown food to get to local communities and create a place for people to gather around food. A neighbourhood market can be run in any number of ways and in diverse locations of a community, depending on the needs of the local neighbourhood. Other communities throughout North America, and beyond, have neighbourhood markets located beside community gardens, local neighbourhood associations or community centres, in office buildings, schools, recreation centres, hospitals, condo developments, church yards, vacant lots or in parks.

There are many benefits to neighbourhood markets including health, economic and community benefits.
